NRA Range Safety Officer Class

The NRA Basic Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course develops NRA-certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

This nine-hour course is conducted in a classroom and at a shooting facility. RSO candidates learn the roles and responsibilities of an RSO, range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), range inspection, range rules, range briefings, emergency procedures, and how to identify and handle firearm stoppages and malfunctions on the line.

Attendees must be 21 years of age or older. Each candidate receives an RSO Student Study Guide and supporting NRA materials. This certification is ideal for anyone who runs a range, hosts training, or supervises shooters in a group setting.
